Back to Campus

Department Responsible: University Communication

Goal: Convey critical directives to support a healthy return to work and campus during the COVID-19 pandemic

Audience: Johns Hopkins University students and staff

Deliverables & Design Thinking: Launched in 2020 and continuing through 2022, this campaign featured:

  • Campaign look and feel (featuring the use of Heritage Blue and secondary orange as an accent, a custom icon set, mascot imagery of Jay wearing a mask, and Blue Jay wings to represent standing 6-feet apart)
  • Semi-permanent environmental branding (extensive outdoor banners, signs, and window installations on the Homewood campus, targeting high-traffic areas)
  • Flyers, posters, and digital signage
  • Marq templates (available for additional campus locations to tailor signage as needed)

Outcome: The JH Needs U campaign was one of the first centralized campaign activations that successfully decimated ready-to-use and editable resources across the entire university.
