Font Request
Our primary and secondary brand typefaces are available only to graphic designers at Johns Hopkins University. Fonts may not be shared without the knowledge of University Communications as licenses are limited. If you are not a graphic designer, please work with your unit’s Brand Ambassador to create on-brand marketing and communications materials or proceed with approved alternative fonts, Tahoma and Georgia.
Before requesting fonts, please consider the following:
- Are you looking to use these fonts on a website or mobile app?
- If yes, please use approved font substitutes for the web instead. Our brand fonts are not licensed for use on websites or apps.
- Are you planning to use these fonts in Microsoft products, like Outlook, PowerPoint or Word?
- Best practice is to use system default fonts (Tahoma and Georgia), ensuring all users will have access and your designs will not be disrupted by missing fonts.
- Are you creating building or campus wayfinding signage (interior or exterior)?
- Please work with Johns Hopkins Facilities and Real Estate to align with official signage templates.
- Would you like access to official brand templates that already use our logos, fonts, and colors?
- Consider our branded template portal, Marq. We also offer select templates in Microsoft and Canva.
